  • Granny Karen,

First of all, please don't type in all capital letters - on the Internet, that is considered SHOUTING.

OneCare will not be Yellow because of photo backup. It suggests that you might want photo backup, but it doesn't require this for green/good status. It does, however, require that you configure backup. Based on your other post, you have not yet done that.

    To configure backup:

Open OneCare, click on Change Settings.

    Click on the backup tab

    Click on Configure Backup

Click on the button "Change Settings" in the lower left and make sure that the first screen you see has "No centralized backup" selected and then click on the name of your PC in the left hand side of the panel.

On the next screen you will see "Your backup plan" and several choices:

    -Where

    -When

    -What

and a selection for "turn on backup for this PC."

In the Where section, select CD/DVD Writer

In the When section, choose a scheduled time or leave it as "remind me with Tune-up."

In the What section, select the file types you wish to backup and then review the amount of required space, number of discs, that will be estimated for backup. Note that "Other" will possibly require the use of many discs.

Once you've made your selections, click Next and then Save your backup plan.

If you need help with this, Instant Help has some good details. Type "backup" in the search box to see the topics. In OneCare, click on Help then "show me more topics" to get to Instant Help.
