Microsoft Academic Search API - Azure Market Place RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am a research assistant with New York University. I am trying to access the MAS API through Azure Market Place. I am facing a very basic problem here. How to find the query URL? There is no migration document present to move from App ID to Azure Marketplace. You have a nice documentation available for Bing API. IS there one such thing for MAS API as well?

I am basically interested in looking for Authors and their affiliaitons. Could you please provide me with a specific URL for the same.

  • Hi divya-nyuad,

First of all you will need to login to Azure Market Place using Windows Live ID and then subscribe to the MAS dataset. You can then use the "EXPLORE THE DATASET" link to go to the page where you can see all the datasets available. Here you can see the data of any dataset in a grid format, with options to filter and the url for the query. Datasets Author and Affiliation are available there. The datasets are available as OData feeds and can be queried with OData methods. If you are using VisualStudio then you could check this out "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg312152.aspx"

Please tell us if you need further assistance.

  • Hello Divya,

The direct link to MAS dataset via Azure datamarket is ''https://datamarket.azure.com/dataset/mrc/microsoftacademic'' . Here's a link to schema documentation ''http://sdrv.ms/1bdJBgD'' but it does not cover the migration details.
You can know more about OData query types via the link ''http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201299''

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks and Regards,
