Data from 2 drives mixed up/home server backup not started RRS feed

  • Question

  • When starting WHS I get a messege WHS computr backup service is not running.
When I look at "My Computer" it now lists:
    SYS(C)
    Data(D)
    Data(F)
    Data(G)
Before my problems it listed as:
    Sys(C)
    Data(D)
I have three drives, one with the OS and two for the data. When I access the Shared Floders it now dose not show the usual folders like "Users, Music, Photo's, Software. iIt just shows shared printers and Shares, in the Shares is most of my data but it is a bit mixed up.
Before this happened the only change was me installing Roxio burner software that didn't work so I uninstalled it.
I have no access to the Console and limitet access to the data.
(Data is all there as I did search for it but it is scrambled between three drives)

  • Seems the disks have somehow been removed from the WHS storage pool. Normally the data drives are listed in C:\fs.

I think your only option is a server reinstall. This should normally preserve data in shares and client backups. The process is described in this FAQ
