while idle, network utilization from WHS to Vista64 > 65%. RRS feed

  • Question

  • So I've spent the weekend getting WHS setup and installed on my home network.  Everything is running smoothly so far except for one oddity.

While Idling on my Vista64 machine. my Resource Monitor shows that my System is connected to my WHS and is using  somwhere between 60% and 80% of my network resources.  It continually hovers around 480,700,000B/min received.

This seems incredibly excessive.. Is this normal behavior or is something acting up?  What could WHS possibly be serving to my Vista machine as it sits idle?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    (I have backups completely disabled.)

  • If you have set your Vista machine to monitor certain folders on your server, is it possible that it's simply watching, and indexing, as you add large amounts of content?
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
