  • Hi Jamie - you've hit a combination of different issues. Apparently the problem you had with getting stuck on the Terms of Use page was due to a bad cookie. Now that you've cleared that cookie and signed in again you're looking at the main welcome page (/welcome/default.aspx). You're actually signed in at this point even though your name wasn't parsed correctly (e.g. jamie%jamie-thomson.net@passport.com). The big orange signin button in the center of that page is there whether you're signed in or not; if you click on it when you're signed in you should be taken to the devices ring (/web/devices.aspx). On that page you should see your name correctly parsed in the upper right of the page.

The name-parsing bug is actually fixed now and you should see that fix released soon. The big orange signin button that's present whether you're signed in or not is a usability issue (it should probably disappear when you're signed in).

  • Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your feedback.  I'm unable to repro the issue.  Can you clear your cache, try again, and post an update.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I don't know which cookies, but I'd certainly expect that the above happens becuase of cookies.
In fact, I'd blame LiveID as I see cookie issues with LiveID on many Microsoft LiveID sites on occasion.

    Evan,

I deleted "Temporary Internet items" and tried to log in again. Same thing happened. Even worse I end up at https://www.mesh.com/Welcome/default.aspx and I'm showing as jamie%jamie-thomson.net@passport.com (err...who??) and yes, that is on the sign-in screen. So, it sort of thinks I'm signed-in cos it sort of knows who I am and yet its still got the big orange "Sign-in" button.

What on earthis going on? I say again, 12 months after this first gets released stuff like this should NOT still be happening.
