License Problem with CRM 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've downloaded the 90-days trial verision of CRM 4.0 from the MS site:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=99cb3a7a-eba9-4de9-b0f1-2ebf11c3d756&displaylang=en

Now my trial version will expire within 1 day.So I need to convert my trial version to a full use version before that.

As my company is a Microsoft Gold Partner,we have a free license.Am i right? . I think so...

If so,I need to convert my trial version to a full use version using this free license.

So I opened the Deployment Manager in my CRM Server 4.0

Then Selected the Licenses option . Now i've installed ENTERPRISE trial version.

Then clicked Upgrade License and entered the free license key(Enterprise version) that I got from my MSDN account.

Then a message showing that this key is INVALID!!!!

    Help me please.....I'm in hurry

Yes you are right. Gold Partners receive CRM Enterprise as part of their benefits.

I believe that your company will have received CRM Enterprise on a CD with a key as part of your monthly box. You'll need to find that.  I think the key from MSDN is not your free one.

  • Unfortunately, you're Gold Partner licenses are at a lower level then the "Trial" and "Retail" licenses.

We had the same issue.   Basically, we installed a new installation, imported the customizations and data into the new install.

Not ideal but that was pretty much the only way to do it.

  • And you are quite right as well.

I believe you need to aquire your gold CRM license by doing as descibed on this page:

    https://partner.microsoft.com/40011358

Or to be precise, your account administrator needs to follow the steps.

The use of this license (and others) is described in this page:

    Regards

    Michael
