CRM 2011: Online - Contact View Without Workflows Conducted RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm attempting to create a Personal view in which i can see which Contacts have not had a Process Workflow conducted on them.  I'm going through our database and running a custom workflow which can only handle a certain number at a time.  Sometimes I lose the place where i'm at, and need to restart.  I have a feeling that if i can create a view which excludes contacts that have had a workflow / process run on them, then i'll be able to go through it quicker.

    I've tested by using Advanced Find > Look For: Contacts > *insert starting Criteria which pulls up results*.  I ran this find and got a decent number of results, some of which i know have Workflows already run on them.  I then proceeded to try and add the following criteria:

    Related > System Jobs (Regarding) > Started On > Does Not Contain Data.  Results returned a fat Zero.

    Any suggestions would be more than appreciated, and thank you for the help in advance.

  • You are unable to do what you want in default CRM views.

    To accomplish this you want to either build a custom view based on fetchXML - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531006.aspx

    or by utilizing marketing lists to add and remove members. Add all contacts and then remove contacts which have a process workflow. Left over will be the ones that doesnt have a process workflow.

  • Rune;

    Thanks for the help on this one, we have too many contacts to create a marketing list out of them so i'll talk to our vendor that helps handle behind the scenes work and mention this to him.
