My Windows7 is Genuine, But now it says its not RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought my new Dell laptop around Sep 2010 with preinstalled Windows(R) 7, HomeBasic edition. After ~3 years, suddenly, it is telling me that my copy of windows is not genuine.  I have the original Windows install DVD with me, which I got from Dell when I purchased the laptop. How to solve this issue? I am disappointed, I did not expect Microsoft product (or automatic update) to have this type of issue. Moreover, I have lost 2-3 hours in trying to solve this issue. My time is really very precious, I have hundreds of things to complete.

    Please solve the issue urgently.

After running MGADiag, I got the following log:

  • Have you recently installed a BIOS update?

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.
