swapped hard drives now getting "invalid license" RRS feed

  • The hard drive in my son's Dell died so instead of purchasing a new one I just took the out of an old Emachines. Everything went fine with the swap but now I get the constant not a genuine license error please validate. No problem, I click through the process but it's never able to actually validate. Ok, so it tells me to go to support...I click through that but I am never actually able to type anything into the support window. What is the best way to go about this?

  • 1. Download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool. Click Run, and then click Continue.

    The tool will scan your computer, and then provide a summary of your computer's settings and system details that will help the MGA support team understand the problem.

    To copy your results to the Clipboard, click Copy.
