message 8059 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased OneCare at Costco on Dec. 20th and installed it as directed. Now it tells me that my subscription has ended. When I try to reenter the 25-digit product key, I get the message 8059 because this is not a 2nd or 3rd installation. When I try to verify the subscription, it does not find it. Can you help me correct this problem please? Thank you.

  • Check your PC date and time. If it is correct, please contact support after verifying your subscription status at http://billing.microsoft.com

You are getting the 8059 error because the key has been used to activate a subscription. Since you mention "re-enter" that means you created a subscription with a LiveID. If you have a link to subscribe in OneCare, sign in with that same LiveID and it *should* activate your local copy. If not, please contact support.
