Replace Netgear DG834PN with Netgear DGN2000 WHS n0ot accessible from workstation RRS feed

  • Have my WHS up and running backing up 4 home PC's Excellent.
    Decided to upgrade network to N so chose a DGN2000 router.
    Set it up same as 834PN and network works perfectly but PC's can nol longer
    connect to WHS.
    Cannot figure out why.
    Suggestions please.

  • Hi,
    usually if you change the router, the server receives also a different IP address via DHCP, as the clients do.
    If all else is correctly configured, you should be able to reconnect by executing C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\discovery.exe on each client.

    If you ever manually entered an IP address for the server in the hosts file on the clients. you will need to adjust this.
