memory 4gb installed 2gb showing

Hi can anybody please tell me, why my Acer Aspire 7004 wsmi which came with Home Premium and 1gb of memory.

When I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 32bit and added 4gb of new matched kingston kvr667d2s5/2g only shows 2.8gb of memory yet in the Bios it shows 4gb.

This issue is corrected when you install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista.

Thanks Carey I had in fact downloaded sp1 but did not look as I was being bombarded by other would be's telling me it was a bios problem and to to flash my bios. The thing had indeed corrected itself.

This is what we used to do in the old days eh!
