What happens with Live Meeting in R2? RRS feed

  • Question

  • What happens with Live Meeting in R2?
It was a big disappointment that it was not upgraded.
I was hoping that it used the RDP protocol for sharing desktop etc..

  • I'm not sure what your question is.  Regarding 'Desktop Sharing' that feature is built directly into the OC client, but desktop/application sharing is still available in the separate Live MEeting client as it was pre-R2.

  • I guess I hoped for an upgrade of Live Meeting client, as the desktop sharing and program sharing still is slow.

  • Hal07,

Did you check if you have the latest Office Live Meeting 2007 (v8.0.6362.114) at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA101733831033.aspx?

KB960165 provides more information on the Dec 08 updates for LM 2007.

Do let us know if this helps. Thanks.

  • thanks for the input Desmond,
but there is no updates concerning Live Meeting when it comes to improving speed of screen sharing. It's still slow and does not use the RDP protocol.

  • Good question. Many Microsoft staff monitor and support the public newsgroups. Perhaps they have already noticed?

Also, you may wish to try the OCS Server team blog at:
