Running XP Pro both natively and via VMWare RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have both Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.10 installed on my computer.  I am interested in using VMware to access the Windows XP install inside of Ubuntu.  While researching how to do this I have found information stating that due to hardware profile issues it is not currently possible via legal means to go back and forth between using VMware and native.  (note we are talking about a single install on a single machine, just accessed multiple ways).
I also own a second copy of Windows XP that is not currently installed on any machine (nor has that key ever been used).  Is it possible to have Windows operate under different keys in the two access modes so that re-authentication is not necissary, if so, how would I go about doing this?  Please note I want to use the same install in both methods so that changes made in VMware affect native running and vice versa.
