OneCare on three PCs RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have OneCare up and running on my laptop.  I like it real well!

The laptop is connected wirelessly to a router, and then on to a cable modem.  I have two other PC connected to the router wirelessly.  I finally got the three of them connected to the same workgroup, so that we can now share files and print form a printer connected to one of the computers.

So I was going to add these two PCs to OneCare, but the words used on the screens caused me to stop, as it made it sound like it is going to set another “network” to share the OneCare installation.  My question is “will this mess up the network I now have running”?

I am a “rookie” on this stuff and don’t want to risk messing up what I have already done - it was painful to get this far!

Also, I mistakenly started another 90 day trial on one of the PCs.  Do I just delete this prior to starting the sharing process?

    Thanks!

  • It won't set up or mess up any of your network settings, but it may warn you about wireless security if you have not already set that up.

On the additional 2 PCs, that are running the trial, simply click subscribe and use the same LiveID that you subscribed on PC number 1 with and they will be added to the existing subscription.
