drag and drop, touch screen and mouse RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

one of our customer has a strange problem.

    He has a touch screen.

When he use his fingers to drag and drop items in one of our forms, then it works.

But when he tries the same with the mosue it doesn't work.

It looks like the drag and drop events aren't fired by the .Net runtime.

    Has anybody any hints ?

  • We absolutely need to know the dispaly technology in use:
WinForms, WPF, UWP, ASP.Net, XNA, other?
This question might belong into the display techs subforum.

    Also the operating system:
    Vista, 7,  8/8.1, 10?

Is it set to Mouse+Keyboard or Tablet mode when the behavior happens?
I know for a fact that either mode can be turned on and will affect the non-intended devices too. In the end tablet mode is just a reinterpretation of the mouse.

Some actuall code would be nice too.

The first one in the debt to do stuff is actually the operating system.
It has to tell the application of mouse movements, clicks and the like. It could be it never puts the message into the Message Pump:
