LCDS problems importing SCORM package into Moodle

After SCORM package import in Moodle, the structure of the corse is visible but when I try to open a lesson, I have this error:

Message: 'window.Silverlight.Controls' is null or it is not an object

Hi Takabanda,

LCDS is designed to create content that can be hosted in the SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK).

In addition, we continue to test the content in other Learning Management Systems. We've heard varying reports about issues with Moodle and we do not have steps to resolve the issues some course authors are encountering with Moodle at this point.

Unfortunately, we don’t have specific steps to for Moodle.

I thought scorm's purpose was to overcome software specific issues using "Package Interchange Format." I have a lot of moodle specific content, but switched to scorm so other LMS's could use my content.

I too have tired to import LCDS scorms into Moodle (the scorm runs, but no images appear: Sliverlight 4001 error Type:ImageError) and Udutu (import fails completely).

This is very disappointing and a time waste creating scorms that can only be distributed to SharePoint.

Bonjour,

I am french and my english langage is very rough, but.... i have a solution.



In Microsoft LCDS (french version)

Open the topic you wish to export to Moodle.

w       Click on « Create »

w       Choose the following option « Scorm 1.2 package »

-      Choose the place where you want to register the package on your computer, for example on the desk of your computer

-      Give the topic a name, for example « COURSE 1 »

-      The folder “Topic” is now created on your desk, which is zipped and represents the learning-program created in LCDS

Exit Microsoft LCDS

In Moodle

You need to proceed in two steps

w       1. Import the zipped folder “COURSE 1” , from your desk to the folder-space in Moodle dedicated for your topic.

w       2. Import the folder in the topic you are creating in Moodle

You have to be in the Edit Mode

1 Importation of the folder Topic in Moodle (1.9) :

See the Moodle tutorial in the tool Folder, which is not very easy to understand.

2 Importation of the folder in the topic you are creating.

You are in your topic.

In the combo-box, select « Add a resource… », then choose « Add a folder IMS content package »

You come to a screen named « Add a resource… »

ð      In the space “general”

w       In the field “NAME” - Enter a name : It will be the name of the topic, for example « Topic lcds»

w       The field « SUMMARY » doesn’t have to be completed obligatory

ð      In the space « Add a folder IMS package », Clic on “TO CHOOSE OR TO DROP A FOLDER”

w       In the appearing list, choose Course 1.zip.
In order to do that:

-      Check the box on the left side from« course 1.zip »

-      Clic on « Choose», on the right side from « course 1.zip »

w       The name of the folder appears in the field «Location »

ð      In the space “Parameter »

w       In the field in « Lateral navigation … », clic on YES

ð      Exit this screen by a clic on “TO REGISTER AND TO DISPLAY”

w       Then clic on “TO UNFOLD”

w       Then on “ TO VISUALIZE THE CONTENTS OF FOLDER IMS”

Notice

You’d better use IE8 than Firefox, because a couple of functions do not work.

This exemple is for "Dokeos", but it is good for zipped topic of Microsoft lcds .
