Windows 7 and system reserve RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need a little tutorial here. WHS has been working very well since it's RC. I now that Windows 7 Creates a 100mb reserve area on the drive. When WHS does a restore I,m a little confused. I tried to do a restore of Win 7 but do I need to make a 100 mb partition on the  blank drive so that on a reinstall the system reserve has a place to go? or can I not restore the system reserve? It kind of makes my WHS much more complicated than it was for Vista.

  • You need to create that system reserve partition, if it exists, and restore it at the same time as the boot partition.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
