Dynamic Dates in Activities View Field

Question
-
My company is looking to create a graphical representation of overdue activities by owner, only issue being when the view is set up the due date only has "On or Before" usable with a static date. I've got every other aspect of it in place, I simply cannot find a way to make the date dynamic. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.Thursday, July 11, 2013 6:42 PM

You might want to try using something else instead of 'On or Before'. How about "Activity Status = Open, Scheduled" and "Start Date Last 100 Years"?

If your filter says "Due Date -> Last 100 Years" as Neil suggested then any activities with a due date before today will display in the view - where 'today' is always the current date. As you've found, if the activity has no due date it will not show up; so perhaps you could use an OR grouping to say due date last 100 years OR due date does not contain data.
Here's an example of how the filter could look:
Hope that helps

I currently have "Activity Status = Open, Scheduled", though I am not seeing how "Start Date Last 100 Years" would catch overdue activities. I added that to my current view and found everything without a start/due date dropped off, however, I still have entries showing up whose due dates are in the future.
Here is what I am seeing with the different filters.
Total Entries - Filter Criteria
1323 - Open/Scheduled, Start date last 100 Years, Start date contains data
1323 - Open/Scheduled, Start date last 100 Years
1397 - Open/Scheduled (70 entries with no start/due date, 4 entries start date in future)
Thank you for the response, I greatly appreciate it.

That does help Paul and makes perfect sense, in hindsight it seems to simple and something I should have caught. I'm fairly new to CRM so I wasn't intimately familiar with every function and of course, this was a high priority item they assigned to me. Neil had the gist of it, I was only thrown off by start date vs due date. Thank you both for your help.Monday, July 15, 2013 2:58 PM
