Deleted User Account - Can't Backup Files RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have recently got home from hospital & discovered that my 11 year old son has created a new user account for himself & deleted ours.

I have backed up our PC through OneCare but can't restore everything as the account has gone.

Is there any way we can get our user account back as I have lost important contact detils for medical specialists etc.

I'd really appreciate you help as I'm off work recovering from serious illness & can't afford a technicial.

    Regards,

    Trevor

  • You can create the user account from control panel - Users. Use the same name as the original account, make it an administrator account.
The log into that account and make your son's account a limited user.
Configure OneCare in the new account and then perform a custom restore to bring back the backed up data from your OneCare backups.

  • I'm not sure if it will work but you can try a System Restore to a time before your user account was deleted. In which program were your contacts kept?
