MSCRM 2013 - Short cut key - navigation related entities RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi  All,

In MSCRM  2013 ,   after  opening  a  Contact  record  ,  it  will  display the  list   of  related  entities  in the  top  navigation  pane  .

Let  us  assume  ,  for  a  particular  Contact  record  named  - "John "   ,  we  have  the  list  of  related  entities   like

Activities  ,  Projects ,  Cases  ,  Alerts     listed in the  top  navigation  pane  .

our  requirement  is  :   on  clicking  a   short key   in the  keyboard  ,   it  should  focus  to  the  related  entity  pane  and  open the  corresponding  entity  in the page .

for  eg :   ALt +A  - opens   Activities  entity    ,  ALt + CTL  + C  - open the  cases  entity

Is  this  possible  to  achieve  ?  Can  some one  please  guide  me  ?

    thanks

    Krithi

  • Hello,

This article describes how to implement keyboard shortcuts using JavaScript - http://www.catswhocode.com/blog/using-keyboard-shortcuts-in-javascript

This SDK topic describes navigation items. I believe setFocus is method you need.

  • I have tried this, still it is not working in CRM 2013. As CRM 2013 is not supporting, I am getting syntax errors when I debugged the code.

  • Thanks Andrii Butenko.

Code present in the url worked for the first time.

I have configured shortcut keys for two tabs.

when I open a record and press any shortcut key, it is focusing on to a tab. If I press the second shortcut key it is not focusing onto the second tab. Can you please help me in this. I am using CRM 2013 OnPremise. Browsers are IE8 & IE9.
