Reinstalled Vista on a new HD - how can I keep the same activation key? RRS feed

    Hi,

As my PC's hard drive was close to "dying", I've bought a new HD and reinstalled Vista on it. Now I need to activate Vista on this new HD.

How can I "desactivate" the Vista I have on my old HD to use the activation key for the Vista on the new HD?

I looked for any way to "desinstall" the Vista ed or connect to Product activation to "desactivate" my Vista ed. Couldn't find anything :-(

The Vista version I have is a Vista Ultimate retail (not OEM).

    Thanks for your help !
