what does "Windows Client" mean? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know this wrong place to ask, but I have already tried MS Tech support Colombia and America (they refused to answer) and I still do not have answer.

Look at this page https://www.dreamspark.com/Institution/CompareSubscription.aspx and tell me what is meaning of word "Windows Client" even more tell me what software is included into that word?

The hint is here http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-windowsclient.aspx and now tell me why MS started to use this word as by last week "Windows client" for me was software or application but never OS?

Third question is why Centro de Atencion Microsoft en Colombia cannot answer me What software is included into word Windows Client and where should I get official answer what Windows Client means to explain it to my boss who does not sign subscription for university until he understands that magic word? The answers I got from them was look at www.windowsclient.com for third asking in English and Spanish?

  • I don't think there is a forum for this.

Windows client: for consumers, e.g. 2000 professional, XP, Vista, 7

Windows server:for service, e.g. 2000 server editions, Windows 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2. Not recommended for students, except those enrolled for IT administration or software development classes.
