  • Question

  • I get this error message when i restart the computer during install.  Its at the very end of the install, in the finishing installation section.  I can click ok and then it asks if i want to view the log, which says the same error message of course.  Then it lets me go to the windows home server desktop and from there it pretty much looks like a normal windows 2003 server installation, but it wont complete the installation without errors so i know something isnt quite right.  Anyone seen this or maybe know how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • well, i didnt check the feedback area before posting.  the problem was fix by moving the dvd drive from primary slave drive to the secondary master, after this, it completed installation with no more problems.

  • I would try reburning WHS with different media, or at a slower speed.

  • I would just re-install to minimize on issues, I hope it works!

  • I had the exact same error and that was because I had removed the WHS install DVD. Once returned, it finished with no problem. It would of been nice for the software to say, "Cannot find file, please insert ...)

Hello read everything in post FAQ moved dvd to secondary master still same issue.

Would this still not be a bug with this software as the software installed ok with the settings as they where and had no previous issues with the hardware setup till running this software.

I have two hard drives and a just the dvd drive connected - any suggestions on how to reconfigure the dvd drive or change the settings in the install.

Strange thing its still running I can login and do whatever like post on here

  • I did the same thing, but now when I start the upgrade over again. It does not give me the option to upgrade, just the new install option.

I wish they would have given you the chance to re-insert the DVD.

  • Hello see my other post

    Hi all

Im please to report that everything is up and working.

I'm afraid to say all the warnings about CRC checks and DVD burners and burning software are correct.

CRC32 matched the downloaded iso, the burned copy matched the hash check - DVD download and iso ok.  SlavaSoft HashCalc

So what failed looks like my DVD burner and I went out and brought a new 16x DVD Writer ($98.00  NZ) supports multi formats.  GRRR
