Access to Deactivate Accounts RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We're on CRM 2013 on-premise. We'd like to prevent users from deactivating Accounts.

Is there a specific role to avoid users from deactivating Accounts? Or do we have to hide the button instead?

    TIA,

  • I think there is not a deactivate privilege, the write privilege allows deactivation as per this article on MSDN, https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/gg327825.aspx

But since you are using CRM 2013 I think you could use a real-time synchronous workflow to prevent deactivation for specified users and/or teams.

  • Below is an article relating to the Ribbon Workbench which steps you through hiding an out of the box button (Deactivate) based on a particular privilege (such as Delete).

This effectively gives you a "Role" you can assign to a user to prevent them from seeing the Deactivate button.

You would need to do this on both the Form and List view.
