  • I install dynamics crm 3.0 client for outlook offline on windows xp and office2007, when I open the outlook, I meet a problem, the error is:microsoft office has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience.

  • This is a general error information. Please find Event Viewer (Aplication Log) and see what information do you have.

  • You don't have any errors with name startng with MSCRM ?

    Do you tried to reinstall crm outlook client ?
    Do you tried the latest v.3.0 client (v3c ?)

    Just to add to Kgorczewski's post. Please ensure that you have downloaded the "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 clients for Microsoft Office Outlook Compatibility Update (On Premise)" from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=740E1B3B-11C3-4AEF-B2E3-8309E0CF1BB0&displaylang=en

    The version is compatible with XP SP2 and MS Office 2007.

  • I install the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 clients for Microsoft Office Outlook ,which is chinese simplified language, I download the file X13-09481, and I install it sucess in some computers, these environment is window xp sp2 or sp3,office 2007 and window explorer 7 or 8. But, only several computer can not install it, their environment is the same,window xp sp2 or sp3,office 2007 and window explorer 7 or 8. when I repair it, the error show, action microsoft.crm.setup.client.installpstaction failed, I also try the 'fixmapi', It can not work. why?

  • Check if this is working:

    The reason the install is failing is the installing user doesn't have write access to the C:\Windows\System32 directory or the installing user doesn't have write access to the mapisvc.inf file located in the System32 directory.

    Resolution

    =============================

    Check to see if the mapisvc.inf file exists and the security permissions on the file.

    1. In Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Windows\System32

    2. Find the mapisvc.inf file if it exists. If it does exists right click the mapisvc.inf file and choose properties.

    3. Click the Security tab and make sure SYSTEM and Administrators have Full Control

    4. If the mapisvc.inf file doesn't exist then right click on the System32 directory and choose properties.

    5. Click the Security tab and make sure SYSTEM and Administrators have Full Control

    6. Then try to install the Microsoft CRM Client again.

  • I check the file  mapisvc.inf, I find the Security tab, SYSTEM and Administrators permissions are Full Control.
