Character Verification on username setup, stuck on "Working.." RRS feed

  • Question

  • Alright, so the program is installed, Windows Live OneCare. When I go to make a Live ID, I can enter all my information, except, when I get to the bottom. The part where I'm supposed to verify the picture, by typing in the characters, constantly says it's "Working.." and never pulls up the characters for me to type in. I'm very frustrated.

  • Tech support will usually respond within 24 hours, rarely sooner.

Try creating a LiveID directly at http://account.live.com

Reset Internet Explorer 7 to default settings (Tools/Internet Options/Advanced), or switch to IE7 if you are using a different browser. Something is blocking the communication on the web page for the verification code from communicating with the server.

  • I left that screen be for almost an hour, and it still showed the same thing. To be more specific, it's the "Sign Up For Windows Live" page. At the bottom, there's a part that says "Type the characters you see in this picture". But the part where the picture should be, has a loading circle that says "Working.." beside it. Like it's trying to load a picture. I can refresh the image, and it's still the same thing. At this, I retire until tomorrow. Tech support was emailed three hours ago, and still no response from them either.

    Until tomorrow~

  • Apparently I already had a Live ID and it still wouldn't work.

However, reseting IE7 did work....thanks for your assistance since Windows LIVE does not have Live support..
