Installation error 80070005 XP 32-bits RRS feed

    I get a Mesh installation error "80070005" on my windows XP laptop. The Help suggested to restart the laptop or to disable the virusscanner. I did both, but it didn't solve the problem. A Google search did not provide any clues. Any help would be much appreciated.

    This is usually a permissions error regarding bits and pieces of your registry and other system settings. An article that may help you is: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/09/04/739820.aspx but I can't vouch for accuracy.

    As well as that there is a lengthy discussion on this error code on the TechNet forum in this thread (which I think also mentions the link above. I'd read through the thread before taking any action, since there seem to be some warnings against doing some of the proposed solutions.
