Synctoy 2.1 and sub-folders on Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm a long-time user of SyncToy but I'm now finding I can't get it to copy sub-folders. I don't know if this is a Windows 10 issue, as the Microsoft site doesn't indicate that it's supported for Windows 10. This is such a useful tool but it looks as though I will need to seek an alternative.

  • This just happened to me last night. It started deleting all of the folders on the right. So I set up a new pair and sub folders won’t synch. Someone else has posted that it is related to the most recent Win10update. I will have to explore further.

  • Seems to be a problem with folders that are also synchronized to OneDrive - there the subfolders are no longer included. If I copy the same folder including the subfolders to my local harddrive and make a new folder pair from there, Synchtoy is working correctly. From the original folder located in OneDrive it will only synch the files found directly in the folder, but disregard any subfolders therein.

Checked with Synchronize, Echo and Contribute - also set all folders manually to 'available offline' in OneDrive.

  • I have found the same problem. SyncToy won't include subfolders from my Documents folder. For now my work-around is to copy my Documents folder to my desktop and have a SyncToy pair setup to sync from there. It is an extra step but it works. I hope MS will fix it and not some BS like "well SyncToy is not supported so Blah, Blah, Blah".
