Reactivate Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently installed a new Graphics Card and now find I have to reactivate my genuine copy of Windows Vista. I already have a code and it is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-VHJTT-39BXJ but when I try to use this code. I am told it is already in use. What is my next step.

That error message is Vista's way of telling you that you need to Re-activate using the By Phone method.

NOTE: I have obscured the Product Key that you have posted.  However, it has been viewable for over 7 hours, before I could. This means anyone on the internet could see (and steal) the key.  Please don't post a Product Key in a Public forum.

  • Hello David Richard Whitehouse,

First, please edit your original post to remove your product key!  It's not a good idea to post it in a public forum.

    Next, please follow these instructions:

In order to receive the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.

  • Came home from work, turned on the Toshiba laptop I have had for year and half and it now comes up saying, "Windows Vista Build 6001 this copy of windows is not genuine." What? I have had it for a year+. I will paste what it gave me using the above link diagnostic tool.  This makes nooo sense to me.
