NTLDR is missing and so is everything else RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having trouble with my windows xp computer. A few months back i got an NTLDR is missing message and i simply copied ntldr from the xp installation disk, uncompressed it and my computer worked fine. Now Search Companion has stopped working and when i tried to fix it it still didnt work so i just left it. Now the next day when the computer had been rebooted it wouldn't go past the windows xp screen. then i tried some things and it then wouldnt go past verifying DMI pool data. Now after trying to fix that somehow my computer no longer finds C:\ and D:\ is now apparently wiped. If i plug my external hard drive it comes up as C:\. Now I have a laptop with windows 8.1 on it incase i need to do something with them together. I don't want to format anything but i need this to be fixed. Also my keyboard will only work if the computer boots with my hard drive which is strange.

If you can help me this would be much appreciated

    Kind Regards, epicface12
