Is this showing my "Office" is genuine or fake? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently I bought Microsoft Office Professional 2007 through eBay.

I received not Professional version but Enterprise version.

Before opening, immediately I thought it was a fake one since the disk had a sticker with Microsoft logo,

and paper package that contain the disk had no logo from Microsoft.

I reported to eBay, the list was removed, the seller was no longer register member.

The customer support decided in the seller's favor, and I didn't get refund.

ok, maybe I'm too paranoid, it might be ok. I installed it. I got result.

It seems like Office is not genuine?

If it's not, I need to report it, right?

Please let me know that eBay was favor of those piracy or I was wrong.

    Thank you.

Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK

Unfortunately, you have a counterfeit copy of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 installed.  In order to fix this problem, uninstall this counterfeit software and then purchase a genuine edition from the Microsoft Store.

Never buy software from auction web sites such as eBay.  That is were the bogus counterfeit sellers prey on unsuspecting buyers!

  • Hello ukey-s-love,

You wrote, "The customer support decided in the seller's favor, and I didn't get refund."

What was their so-called rationale for such a bad decision?

  • After I reported to eBay that I received a fake copy, they took the seller account out.

As a result, I couldn't contact the seller vice versa.

The seller is no longer registered member of eBay, and the list of auction is removed,

and I received message from eBay.

    ====================================following is the message=========

We're writing to let you know that we removed the listing for the following item that you won or bid on:

260629184819 - Microsoft Office Professional 2007 FULL Version Retail

To help protect you, we removed this listing so we can confirm that the seller is not putting you or other eBay members at risk.

If you've already paid for this item through eBay, you can open a case in our Resolution Center to get your money back. All you need to do is click the link below, and select the "I haven't received it yet" option. This will guide you through the process to get a refund. (Unfortunately, because we removed the listing, you won't be able to look up the seller's contact information.)

    http://resolutioncenter.ebay.com

If you won the item but haven't paid yet, don't pay for it.

If the seller offers you the item outside of eBay, we strongly encourage you to not accept the offer. These types of transactions are extremely risky and are not covered by eBay buyer protection programs.

If you didn't pay through eBay, please read the following information:

-- If you paid by Western Union or MoneyGram, contact the company directly (Western Union 800-325-6000 or MoneyGram 800-926-9400).
-- If you paid by check, contact your bank to stop payment.
-- If you paid by credit card, contact your credit card company to dispute the charge.

We want to make sure you get your money back safely and quickly.

    Thanks,

    eBay
    ============================================

So I reported to customer support again and followed the instruction.

Then, they decided not to give me money back.
I stuck with CD with "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007" sticker which of course doesn't pass the test.
I wasted my hard earned money..........

It does indeed! - but what was their reasoning for not giving you a refund? Presumably they sent you some sort of explanation?
