P7 - 0x80048646 When installing Android SDK (API level 19 - 23) RRS feed

  • I keep getting the following error when installing the Android SDK's, I have tried this on a windows 7 machine running VS 2015 and now on a brand new Windows 10 machine running vs 2015 Professional. I cant find anything relating this issue and hope some on can help me identify or resolve the issue.

    Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

    Error 0x80048646 is usually caused by the Windows update, Please check your computer Windows Update, install all the latest patches. Then run the VS installer as administrator again to check if everything works fine.

  • Please advice where I can post because this is still a issue, I am a contractor and cant perform you requirement in an hour due to having to download large updates after hours. Must I re open a thread now because I don't know why you would move it

  • Hi Pietie,

    As we know , Android SDK is third-party to Visual Stduio. According to the error code, it is related to your machine Windows update, please take some time to install all the latest update and patches, including Win 7 Sp1:

    Then reboot your machine to perform a new installation.

    Sometimes, the Android SDK resource server side is temporarily shut down, you may need to wait for sometime uninstall the download process is back to normal.

  • Thanks please can we continue the investigation? I have installed windows updates but they do now show as updated? I had to manually download and install them and also received a success message. Also some KB's do not exists, How do I install them?
