Using an external thumb drive for the Live OneCare backups. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a thumb drive large enough to use as a source for Live OneCare to use as it automatically does its backups?

  • A flash drive is generally a poor choice for a backup destination because it will fill up rather quickly after performing a few backups and One Care does not have a utility to manage your old backups. This will force you to erase your flash drive and start a new full backup each time the drive fills up.

  • HI!

With a thumb drive (or USB flash disk), you have to make sure that it's about 4G.  It must be an NTFS file system, and WLOC must be able to detect the drive itself. FAT32 is not supported by onecare.
