Unable to backup added drive. RRS feed

  • I recently added a drive to one of my clients. I ran the add drive wizard in WHS, and that seems to be fine.

    But, after 3 tries, WHS has been unable to backup the new drive. In computer management, under event viewer, Homeserver, I find the following 2 error messages each time it fails;

    1st - Received abort message from .............. with reason 6.
    It shows as 'type:error' and 'EventID: 270'

    2nd - Backup of  ................... has failed.
    It shows as 'type:error' and 'EventID: 262'

    Any ideas what this is?

  • First few things I would try:

    •     Run CHKDSK /f /r on all drives on the home computer that is failing the backup    
    •     Reconfigure backup on the home computer that is having the difficulty and try again
    •     Uninstall and reinstall the connector software on the home computer that is having the trouble and try again
