Run Dialog for multiple contacts. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to run a dialog for multiple contacts.  My scenario is as follow:

I want to log hours spend by contacts on one of my entities (project)  by selecting a date, start time and end time.

Surely this should by easy to do?

    Regards,

  • Dialogs weren't designed to run against multiple records.

It sounds like you need to enter some values and it creates a Task or some other record for each Project Contact with that data.

A thought - (on premise) you could add these fields to your Project, and then create a Workflow to fire when these fields are updated that will create the Task record. Using the custom workflow activity in the CRM 2011 Distribute Workflow Activity project you could then distribute the task to all the Project Contacts. Finally - clear the 3 data fields on the Project record.

  • As Jason said a dialog only supports to run on one recordset. But you can query CRM Data from a dialog and you can prompt to start "would you like to add an entry for another record?" - you can then ask the user to select another project and then enter date / start time and end time.

    Hope this helps

I want to add time for multiple contacts for one project.  So its the other way arround.  And there is no way to know which users are linked to the project for this spesific activity.

    I'll try the consept though

    Thank you,
