Cancel A Sync Operation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We are pretty keen to find a way to handle cancelling a sync operation between SQL Server and SQL Compact. The Sync uses WCF (wsHttpBinding). As far as I can tell, the recommendation is that we kill the thread performing the sync! Is there no better way to do this? We also found a suggestion that there is a SyncAgent.Cancel method, but I can't find it if it does exist.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks

    Nick.

  • the hub-spoke sync uses the syncAgent where there is no cancel sync method provided. general recommendation as you posted, is to terminate the sync thread on client. there probably some confusion with the SyncAgent being used --- the SyncFramework's SyncOrchestrator ( sometime back was refered to syncAgent as well ) does have the Cancel method.

    Hope this helps.
