SyncToy 2.0 issues with regard 1.WMP & 2.ReadOnly attribute RRS feed

    Hi,
    Let me share 2 experiences:
    - files with a ReadOnly attribute on are not copied
    - no copy either for WMP AlbumArt-jpeg files (they apparently are hidden and a kind of a "system"-file

    For both issues i would expect a copy.

    Is this solved in 2.1 ? or is there a work around ?

    Hi TanyVanAerde,

    About the “read-only” files, SyncToy has some known issues while working with samba server (please refer to http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/synctoy/thread/237a18d3-d1a8-4759-8c25-97e33a4a2989, there are also some work around in it) and it has not been fixed in SyncToy 2.1 yet. If your problem is different from the exited issue, would you like to talk more about your scenario?

    And about the “WMP” files, SyncToy should not ignore such files by default. We need more details about this problem. Is there some error message shown by SyncToy? Would you mind looking into SyncToy log to check if there is some information about the failures?

    1. My NAS is a D-Link DNS-313, and I have no idea whether it runs Samba, or Salsa. File system NTFS. In properties I find "root (Unix User).
    Changing the flag "Save overwritten files in the Recycle Bin..." does not help.
    For me this is not a big issue as I pragmatic removed the ReadOnly-flag. But I experience this as "cheap". Bill should agree with this.

    2. About WMP : I am glad you agree SToy should not.
    The only I can think of... is that they are hidden !
    I copied some screens, but... how to attach them ?
    Pls see below.

    By the way... Where is WMP saving "CurrentDatabase_59R.wmdb and wmpfolders.wmdb". Since I run Vista I do not find them anymore. Neither in RegEdit !
    Is there a need to back-up them ?
