From what I understand, if I am on a work pc on which I am not an administrator then I will not be able to install/run Mesh without issues...
However, if I am on my laptop, which I am an administrator... But on the company network (which blocks all kinds of web pages/ e-mail, etc.) Am I able to Run mesh through my laptop, remote desktop to my home pc, and run interenet explorer off my desktop (using my home isp/network) to view those web pages/ e-mail accounts that are blocked?
If you are an admin on the laptop, you will be able to install Live Mesh - *if* Live Mesh is not blocked by the firewall on your company network through the use of an authenticated proxy, which the Live Mesh client cannot deal with.
Assuming that you install it and it runs, letting you log in, once again all of the functionality of Live Mesh is then dependent on what might impede the connection to your home PC. In theory, you can do all of what you ask. In practice, your company may block the ports needed or the connection to the Internet requires you to log into a proxy server. In either of those cases, all bets are off.
If you already have Live Mesh on the home PC, sign into your Live Desktop in the browser at work and see if you can connect to your home PC. If so, you should also be able to do so with the laptop running the client software. -steveMicrosoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare & Live Mesh Forum Moderator
