Question
-
Hi,
My laptop computer recently came back from the manufacture (asus) after a few problems i was having. The replaced everything but my hard drive. As soon as i started my laptop up it started to tell me that my version of windows was not genuine. This is impossible because i haven't changed the original running system. I still use the one it came with on the Laptop. please someone help me fix this because its annoying
Thanks in advance

It looks like Asus replaced the motherboard with a later model that does not have an SLIC table in the BIOS that is the same as the old mobo.
OEM Activation 2.0 Data-->
BIOS valid for OA 2.0: yes, but no SLIC tableUse the product key printed on the label inside the battery compartment or on the bottom of the laptop to reactivate Windows.
On your keyboard press WinKey + Pause/Break to bring up the System Properties page. Scroll to the bottom and click the link to Change Product Key. Follow the instructions. Or click Start and type "activate" and hit Enter.
If that fails, you need to contact Asus for instructions. Whoever repaired the computer failed to consider the impact of a new mobo on licensing.

The message may mean that Asus changed the motherboard. Please observe announcement 1 at the top of this forum page.
