HA for Mediation Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to figure out if there is a way to provide high-availability at the Mediation server level. I know that by default multiple Mediation servers do DNS round-robin but what about the HA. I guess the load-balancer options won't work since there is no concept of pool at the Mediation server level and all servers are registered individually with the OCS front-end setup.

Does anyone know, how HA can be achieved at the Mediation server level?

    Thanks,

    -Chad

  • Hi Chad - the mediation serevr provides a 1:1 scenario.  1 mediation server is connected to one gateway.  You could have multiple gateways in turn having multiple mediation servers using the same route.  This is not ideal but it will get you HA if one mediation server or gateway fails.

  • Shawn,

In that scenario if one mediation route fails then we loose the call/connection, so there is no HA failover kind of thing in this scenario. right?

But I agree that new connection can be served on the next available server.

    Thanks,

  • That is correct

    Call would get disconnected

    No call fail over

New connection will flow throuhg other server
