Hi,
By default, the subsequent thread depth is 7. This is applicable from any call medium, through JS, or workflow or plugin.
As Mahender said, there should be clarity about the question that in what context the interviewer is asking the question.
For your reference if you are calling a plugin on the update of account in a pre-operation and updating the same account from within the plugin then the plugin would abort the operation and throw the error.
