Network Adapter Driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am having trouble with installing network adapter drivers.

I am trying to install Realtek 3169C drivers on the system and it is failing.

It states that the drivers are not compatible with it.

Just wandering, if there are any Realtek 3169C drivers for it.

  • I never heard of a 3169C but if you meant 8139C (all current Realtek chipsets start with an 8) you can get drivers at http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=4&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true There are no Server 2003 drivers listed but the XP drivers should work.

  • 1. I dont know Realtek 3169C , sorry.

    2. 100 Mb or 1Gbt - In case of 100 Mb - you have 8139 - and you dont need a driver for system 2000, XP or 2003 and Vista.

    3. is it on  mother board ? Look at chip.

    4. http://www.realtek.com.tw/

  • I presume this is an onboard NIC.  I've had issues in the past with 'later' drivers from the source company not working with the intended product.  For WHS I had this issue using the latest NVIDIA drivers - both graphics and chipset\NIC\sound, etc.  BOTH of these current Nvidia drivers caused problems.  Reverting to the 'old' manufacturer hosted ones works fine.

Did you try using the mainboard\current posted drivers from the company that made the mainboard.  These might be really, really old drivers but the XP or 2003 drivers probably will work.
