Exam prerequisite for 70-642 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I want to appear for Windows server 2008 Network infrastructure 70-642 certification exam. On the microsoft website, few prerequisites are given like

Candidate should have at least one year of experience implementing and administering Windows Server 2008 R2 in an environment that has the following characteristics:

    • 250 to 5,000 or more users
    • multiple physical locations
    • multiple domain controllers
    • network services and resources such as messaging, databases, file and print, a firewalls, Internet access, an intranet, Public Key Infrastructure, remote access, remote desktop, virtualization, and client computer management
    • connectivity requirements such as connecting branch offices and individual users in remote locations to corporate resources and connecting corporate networks

However, I donot have much experience and I have some experience in server 2003 (but not to the extent mentioned in above list).

Can I still appear for the exam? Do we need to submit experience certificate for taking this exam?

    Kindly advice.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Pawan

  • Note the words "Candidate should have at least...".  The operative words being...should have, but you don't have to.  Yes - you can study for and take the exam.  You don't have to submit an "experience certificate" (whatever that is).

The intent is that this certification is for intended for people who are already familiar with a Windows Server environment.
