  • Reformatted pc today and went to activate and its telling em my key is block why is this?

  • Hello fearthisneo,

      I confirm that the key has been Activation Blocked due to "Abuse".  I see 11 successful activations of this key but what I think triggered the Block is the 50+ Activation Attempts. 

      At this point I recommend Activating by Phone and once you connect with the Activation Call Center either select the option to talk with a Live Activation Rep or if there is no option, don't input anything into the phone prompt, this should force the phone prompt to transfer to a Live Rep.

      Once you are talking to the Rep, explain the problem and request the key be unblocked. If the rep can't unblock the key him/herself, request that the issue be escalated to someone that can.

  • Try activating by phone, if that fails post back here any information the MS rep on the phone can provide. If you can't activate by phone Darin or someone from MS will be able to check you key's history on Monday.

    1. Type "slui 4" in the start menu search box, hit enter

    2. Select country or region

    3. Dial the number, DO NOT select any menu options, just wait and a person will pick up.

    4. activate by phone.

  • I tried to activate by phone, automated system says its not a valid product the tells me to go to www.ga.microsoft.com then ends the call. I went to that website and it tells me my product is genuine

     

    got a hold of representative gave the the activation id then they had me cancel the activation and type slui 3 into run and reenter my product key, still said it was blocked and they gave me a support number to call

  • Darin can investigate your key on Monday. For now you are in the grace period and the OS is in a genuine status, meaning that there are no limitations so waiting a couple of days for a response will not limit your OS functionality.

    Sorry, wish I could be more help. Were there any problems that caused repeated activations of your OS?

  • I tend to change hardware often, but i honestly dont think ive have reactivated that much to cause MS to block the key but who knows
