  • Darrellscott171,

Your Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop has Genuine XP Pro installed.

Regarding your Product Key, in this case, it is expected and normal that the Product Key (PK) on the Certificate of Authenticity label be different from the one reported by the mgadiag utility.  The Product Key being reported by the mgadiag utility is the valid, Genuine PK issued to Dell by Microsoft to use to deploy their standard Windows XP Pro installation to their many computers.  Microsoft allows major manufacturers to do it this way because it would be way too time consuming and cumbersome for these big computer manufacturers to do a separate installation and activation for every one of the millions of computers they sell.  If you search the forum for *****-*****-T6DFB-Y934T-YD4YT you'll see that all the results are for Dell-installed XP Professional.

Your Office 2003 Pro is being identified as Genuine, too.
