In the current MSDN Forum, I may select a post, and compose a lengthy reply, When I submit the reply -IF my login 'cookie' has expired, I am automatically logged out, and the lenghty post I just attempted to submit is completely 'lost'.
Will this software have any provisions to protect my work? Verify Login before Postback, Refresh Editor screen upon postback failure, some other solution...You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
The actual submission of the post is done via AJAX, and we will only dismiss the editor upon successful completion of that action. So if something were to fail, you'd see an error message at the top of the editor window and your post you'll be able to try to re-submit or worst case copy the text of your response and re-log in to. HTH
Cookie management has been a SEVERE issue with the current forums version. It will be closely watched in this version, so anything the team can do to get in front of potential issues is in your best interest! Also, it would be beneficial if the team can communicate any changes in behavior between this forum version and the current forum version in terms of login/cookie management.
