  • Question

  • I recently installed windows steady state and a program call Driveshield. This was an effort to prevent stepson from downloading ____, messing the computer up, and spending to much time on the computer. Now the only account that can be accessed is mine. It is giving an error while trying to log in. Something to the effect of a IE5 file name is to long. Never had IE5, currently use Firefox. Will uninstalling either of these two programs open up the accounts.
I have gone through and unlocked and taken all restrictions off of the accounts in steady state, still nothing. And it actually deleted the password protection off of one of the accounts.

  • I'm not sure what Driveshield is.  If the error is related to SteadyState, have you locked the user's profile?  If so, unlock the profile, log on as that user, then empty the user's temporary internet files (start > control panel > internet options).  Then log off and log back on as the admin, then lock the account again.
