Loading solution with VS2017 creates an additional workspace RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'm using a VS2017 installation with TFS2019. Installed everything new.
Made connection to TFS. Defined a local workspace. Download the software from TFS and loaded my solution file.
This loading of solution creates a second sub workspace and I have no idea how this happened.
It is somehow related with the sln file.

Any idea how to fix this?
Or a link how to better understand sln files.

    Thanks

  • This is not a normal behavior.  Do you have any files with the vsscc file extension checked in?

  • Hi BeatHoe,

    Thank you for posting here.

Please check the DOC: Create and work with workspaces

And since this issue is more related to TFS, we recommend you could redirect to stack overflow with TFS tag for better support.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Dylan

  • Yes these files are checked in.
But this does not seem to be the problem.
    Decsribed eg in http://www.cryer.co.uk/file-types/v/vsscc.htm

  • you should not check these files in.  They are probably what is causing the new work space to be created
