Microsoft - MCITP cert RRS feed

  • Question

  • Microsoft - MCITP cert exam directory there over 20 something exams and they say you have to take like 5 exams to be MCITP certified, my question is how do you approach these exams, is it like you have to choose 5 exams of your choice from the directory/list? I would like to know  the concept.

  • It depends on the technology field that you want to be certified in.  Exchange 2010 is only two exams, while MCITP Enterprise Administrator is 5.  Generally, one takes the Technology Specialist exams first, followed by the Pro exams.   The order doesn't really matter, but, for example, in the MCITP EA, if you really know Windows 7 well, I'd start with that exam, or if I really knew Active Directory well, I'd take the 70-640 AD exam.  And so on.  Each MCITP has a specific set of exams, with a few options.  I'm working on the EA, for example, and I didn't take the 70-680 Windows 7 exam, I opted for the 70-681 Windows 7 & Office 2010 Deploying exam, which sounded more interesting to me.
